FUNCTIONAL TRAINING FOR CHILDREN & TEEN
Stronger body. Better movement. More confidence.
Functional training for children and young people aged 8–16, designed to help them develop strength, coordination, speed, mobility, fitness and quality movement in a safe and enjoyable environment.
The program is suitable for children and teenagers whether they participate in sports or not.
FOR EVERY CHILD WHO WANTS TO MOVE BETTER
Children develop at different rates and have different abilities, experience and interests.
That's why training at PROGYM is adapted to each child — their age, experience, current abilities and individual needs.
The goal is not simply to make children exercise more.
The goal is to help them move better, become stronger and develop confidence in their own body.
FOR CHILDREN WHO PLAY SPORTS
Functional training can complement regular sports training by developing physical abilities that are important for movement and performance.
We work on:
-
Strength
-
Speed and agility
-
Coordination
-
Mobility
-
Conditioning
-
Explosiveness
-
Movement quality
The program is adapted to the child's age and level of development.
FOR CHILDREN WHO DON'T PLAY SPORTS
A child does not have to play a sport to benefit from functional training.
The program provides an opportunity to develop basic physical abilities, improve movement skills and build positive exercise habits.
Training can help children become:
-
stronger
-
more coordinated
-
more confident in movement
-
physically fitter
-
more comfortable and capable in everyday activities
The focus is on development, enjoyment and creating a positive relationship with exercise.
WHAT DO WE DEVELOP?
STRENGTH
Developing full-body strength through age-appropriate exercises and progressive training.
SPEED & AGILITY
Developing the ability to accelerate, change direction and react quickly.
COORDINATION
Improving body control and the ability to perform different movements efficiently.
MOBILITY
Developing healthy movement and maintaining good range of motion.
FITNESS
Improving general fitness and the ability to handle physical activity more effectively.
EXPLOSIVENESS
Developing the ability to produce force quickly through age-appropriate exercises.
TRAINING ADAPTED TO THE CHILD
Every child is different.
Training is adapted according to:
-
age
-
experience
-
current fitness level
-
movement abilities
-
individual needs
-
previous physical activity
We don't expect every child to perform the same exercise in exactly the same way.
We adjust the exercises and training demands so that each child can progress at an appropriate pace.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Each session is structured around the child's needs and level of development.
01 — WARM-UP
Movement preparation and activities designed to get the body ready for training.
02 — MAIN TRAINING
Exercises focused on strength, coordination, speed, mobility, conditioning and other physical abilities.
03 — MOVEMENT & SKILLS
Age-appropriate movement tasks that challenge coordination, control and physical awareness.
04 — PROGRESSION
Exercises become gradually more challenging as the child develops and gains confidence.
SAFE & PROGRESSIVE TRAINING
Children should enjoy training while also learning how to move correctly.
At PROGYM, we focus on:
Safety → Technique → Progression → Confidence
Exercises are selected and adapted according to the child's age, abilities and experience.
The goal is long-term physical development — not simply completing the hardest workout possible.
